Project Description: Aguirre & Associates was responsible for design surveys and right-of-way mapping for the Interstate 5 (61800 meters) and Lomas Santa Fe (6800 meters) interchange.  Duties included: setting 1st order GPS horizontal control based on NAD 83 and 3rd order or better vertical control based on NAVD 88; setting 18 aerial targets for digital aerial photography and mapping per Caltrans specifications; surveying cross sections along Lomas Santa Fe at 7.5 meter stations; performing design surveys including edge of traveled way on I-5, bridge surveys, topographic survey of San Andres Drive, topographic surveys of areas obscured to aerial photography, utility surveys, and other design surveys as requested by the designer.  Duties also included performing a right-of-way survey and preparing a base right-of-way map.
